Most people striving to eat local set a 150 mile limit, but I think as long as we get what we can within those limits the rest being from California is a great accomplishment. If you know of more local sources PLEASE share those! I haven't yet purchased from most of these places, but am putting them here because they are where I'm starting from.
MEAT
1. J and J Beef (Tehachapi, 238 miles)
They have a CSA you can join and get a delivery every 3rd Wednesday of the month at the North Park Farmers Market.
2. HomeGrown Meats in La Jolla
They carry lamb, poultry and game, but it's not always local.
The beef that is local is from Mendehall Ranch (Palomar)
3. MM Livestock (Wildomar)
beef and lamb
4. Brandt Beef (Brawley)
this is easy to get, but not grass fed or organic
5. Da-Le Ranch (Lake Elsinore)
You can find them at the Little Italy FM
Beef, chicken, lamb from other farms
Pork, rabbit is his product
Chicken, you can find them at the Hillcrest FM
7. RC Livestock (Fallbrook)
goats, sheep and cattle
Ron and Cheryl Lange (760) 723-9193

2. Bendixen Farms (Oceanside)
This is where the wheat that makes Delaney's Pasta comes from, but I can't find a way to source for ourselves
They had some wheat a few months back, but I'm not sure if it's still available

1. Sun Coast Farms (Lompoc, CA)

This list is far from complete and as I said I have not purchased from all these places, but it is a start...if you have or if you do use any of these places or know of any others, please let me know!
